Alzheimer’s Home Care Aide Training

This 12-hour training is designed to prepare Home Care Aides to work with client populations with Alzheimer’s Disease or other Dementias. This training utilizes the Alzheimer’s Association’s Habilitation Therapy model – a person centered approach to dementia care. It covers five habilitation “domains” including, communication, the physical environment, approaches to personal care, activity as purposeful engagement, and understanding behavior as communication.
